Applications for Sustainability Commission (forestry)..

The city of Forest Grove  applications from citizens to fill vacant spots on a number of the city's boards and commissions last Thursday, Nov. 7, including the newly-established Sustainability Commission.
The Forest Grove City Council to establish the Sustainability Commission Monday, Oct. 28, upon a recommendation from the city's ad hoc committee.
Elaine Cole, who chaired the ad hoc committee, called the new commission's work "imperative," as it plans to implement the goals and strategies outlined in the city's
The board, which will consist of 13 members, will tackle a number of environmental areas, such as materials management, social equity, green buildings, energy conservation, food and transportation.
Other boards and commissions hoping to fill vacancies include: the Budget Committee, Committee for Citizen Involvement, Community Forestry Commission, Economic Development Commission, Historic Landmarks Board, Library Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Commission, and Public Arts Commission.
